{"id":1218,"date":"2019-03-02T01:01:55","date_gmt":"2019-03-02T01:01:55","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/empoweringaction.org\/?p=1218"},"modified":"2019-03-02T01:01:55","modified_gmt":"2019-03-02T01:01:55","slug":"reached-people-groups","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/empoweringaction.org\/es\/reached-people-groups\/","title":{"rendered":"Reached People Groups"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>It\nis estimated that of the 7.5 billion people alive today, 3 billion of them live\nin unreached people groups with little or no access to the Gospel, and with\nless than 10% of missionary work done within these groups. So clearly we must\nprioritize reaching the unreached in obedience to Christ\u2019s words in Matthew\n24:14, <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>\u201cAnd this\ngospel of the kingdom will be proclaimed throughout the whole world as a\ntestimony to all nations, and then the end will come.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>And\nyet a logical question is, \u201cWhy bother going to countries where there are\nchurches?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The\nanswer lies, first in the fact that it need not be an either\/or choice and,\nsecondly, in the statistics below:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8211; There are an estimated 2-3.5 million pastoral leaders worldwide<br>&#8211; Only 5% of which have been trained for pastoral ministry<br>&#8211; So\u202695% of church leaders worldwide have no theological training, according to The Center for the Study of Global Christianity, 2015<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>So\u2026among\nreached people groups are there churches? Yes. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>However,\nis the church leadership normally equipped to fulfill its God-ordained mission?\nNo. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>And\ntherefore, the following foundational, biblical principles are not at work:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>-2 Tim. 3:16-17 \u2013 \u201cso that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.\u201d<\/em><br><em>&#8211; Titus 1:9 &#8211; &#8220;He must hold firmly to the trustworthy message as it has been taught, so that he can encourage others by sound doctrine and refute those who oppose it.&#8221;<\/em><br><em>&#8211; 2 Tim. 2:2 &#8211; And the things you have heard me say in the presence of many witnesses entrust to reliable people who will also be qualified to teach others.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Therefore,\nchurches in Reach People Groups need to be\u2026<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Strengthened<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>After\nsome days Paul said to Barnabas, &#8220;Let us return and visit the\nbrethren in every city in which we proclaimed the word of the Lord, and see\nhow they are.&#8221;\u2026 41 And he was traveling through Syria and Cilicia, strengthening\nthe churches. (Acts 15:36, 41)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Encouraged<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cTychicus\nwill tell you all about my activities. He is a beloved brother and faithful\nminister and fellow servant in the Lord. I have sent him to you for\nthis very purpose, that you may know how we are and that he may encourage\nyour hearts.\u201d (Col. 4:7-8)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Equipped<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cfor\nthe equipping of the saints for the work of service, to the building\nup of the body of Christ.\u201d (Eph. 4:12)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>The\nopportunity for short-term mission teams:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8211; The role of visiting, short-term teams is to encourage and empower local long- term ministries by joining their ongoing efforts.<br>&#8211; For I long to see you so that I may impart some spiritual gift to you, that you may be established; that is, that I may be encouraged together with you while among you, each of us by the other\u2019s faith, both yours and mine. (Romans 1:11-12)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>So\u2026missions:\nunreached or reached people groups.
