Fashions come and go.\u00a0 <\/span>And often that\u2019s a good thing.\u00a0 <\/span>[Think rat-tails and Hammer pants]<\/p>

\u00a0Truth does not.<\/p>

\u00a0Yet objective truth has fallen out of fashion. And that is unquestionably a very bad thing for a society.<\/p>

\u00a0Our world generally views the biblical truths of Christianity to have no bearing on society.\u00a0 <\/span>Believers know otherwise. The truth of God\u2019s law, in addition to its role in salvation and sanctification, also benefits societies adhering to its principles.\u00a0 <\/span><\/p>

\u00a0There is a preserving quality for a society to just principles and actions, as defined by Scripture.<\/p>

\u00a0Proverbs 14:34 states, \u201cRighteousness exalts a nation, but sin is a disgrace to any people.\u201d<\/p>

\u00a0One biblical scholar defined truth as that which is consistent with the mind, will, character, glory, and being of God.<\/p>

\u00a0The Old Testament refers to the Almighty as the \u201cGod of truth\u201d (Deuteronomy 32:4; Psalm 31:5; Isaiah 65:16), and in the New Testament Jesus said of Himself, \u201cI am\u2026the truth\u201d (John 14:6). In doing so, Jesus not only made a profound claim about His own deity, but also made it clear that all truth must ultimately be defined in terms of God.*<\/p>

\u00a0So, in our current contentious environment, in which societal forces push to segment and isolate us, let me offer up some universal truths from God\u2019s Word:<\/p>

\u00a0All humans are equal in terms of:<\/p>

  • our creation (Genesis 1:28),<\/li>
  • our sin problem (Romans 3:23),<\/li>
  • our impending judgment (Hebrews 9:27),<\/li>
  • God\u2019s love for us (John 3:16),<\/li>
  • God\u2019s provision of salvation (Matthew 28:19),<\/li>
  • God\u2019s providential control of our circumstances (Acts 17:26-28),<\/li>
  • God\u2019s worthiness of our reverential obedience and love (Romans 12:1-2).**<\/li><\/ul>
